Yes' damaliger Tour-Manager Michael Tait über die 1978/79er Yes-Konzerte:

"In America we'd have a three or four truck tour although that is nothing by today's standards. The biggest development was the rotating round stage, which l thought of back in 1976. We were trying to come up with a new stage design and I picked up a can of film I was taking to a studio and was on the seat of my car. I looked at it and I thought, 'That's it!'

I put the idea on paper and showed it to the band. 'Look, we can play in the centre of the arena - in the round.' We'd have Jon in the centre, with Alan behind him. To his left would be Chris and to his right would be Steve which was the normal set-up. The only difference would be the keyboard player would be in front of Jon, but that's how they set up in the studio anyway.

They said it couldn't be done, but I said if it worked in the studio, it would work outside. And it did.

What that rotating round stage did for Yes was to make them a lot of money. The late Seventies were their golden years in America and Yes were doing big, big business. Sell out business in the round is worth a lot more than sell out business in a proscenium set-up. The front row is 120 feet long instead of sixty! You scale up the tickets and sell more seats.

We broke box office records all over the country, including playing to something like 22,000 people at Madison Square Garden in New York. We were doing the business!

Ich kann mir das gar nicht ansehen.
Was für ein Verlust ist da 1979 mit dem Ausstieg von Jon & Rick entstanden.

Nicht falsch verstehen, jede Zusammensetzung hatte bzw. hat zu Recht seine Fans, aber was da den Bach hinunterging ...

Ich hoffen eines Tages wird es ein oder zwei Konzerte aus dieser Zeit als Ton oder Ton/Bild Dokument geben und ich meine damit nicht das schwache 'Live in Philadelphia 1979'.

Natürlich wäre ich speziell an London 1978 interessiert, aber das weiß ohnehin jeder hier.

Durch die damalige Ausstrahlung im Radio ist "London 1978" eh eines der meistgebootlegten Konzerte dieser Tournee, wenn nicht sogar eines der meistgebootlegten Konzerte von Yes überhaupt. Da ja auch "Yesshows" und "The Word Is Live" aus Ausschnitten diverser Radiomitschnitte bestehen (und auch schon Künstler wie Marillion, Pink Floyd, Mike Oldfield oder Queen diverse nur inoffiziell als Radiobootleg erhältliche Konzerte offiziell veröffentlicht haben), ist die Chance einer offiziellen Veröffentlichung zumindest als Livealbum gar nicht so gering. Vielleicht wird ja auch die "Progeny"-Serie mit Mitschnitten von anderen Tourneen (persönlich wäre ich vor allem an 1974 - 1984 interessiert) fortgesetzt.
