On This Day In Music History, January 21, 1984, Yes started a two-week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with “Owner Of A Lonely Heart.”

Yes are an English rock band formed in 1968 by bassist Chris Squire and singer Jon Anderson. Yes first achieved success in the 1970s with a progressive, art and symphonic style of rock music. They are distinguished by their use of mystical and cosmic lyrics, live stage sets, and lengthy compositions, often with complex instrumental and vocal arrangements. Nine of their twenty studio albums have reached the top ten in either the UK or US, with two reaching number one in the UK. They have sold 13.5 million certified units in the US. 19 people in total have been a part of the band's line-up, including Swiss, South African, American, Russian, and Canadian members. The band's most recent line-up consists of singer Jon Davison, guitarist Steve Howe, bass guitarist Billy Sherwood, keyboardist Geoff Downes, and drummer Alan White.

“Owner Of A Lonely Heart” is the first track and single from Yes' eleventh studio album 90125, released in 1983. The song was written primarily by guitarist Trevor Rabin. Contributions were made to the final version by singer Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, and producer Trevor Horn.

Das war am 11.11.2004 in London, Wembley Arena. Ein Konzert, zu dem Trevor Horn anlässlich seines 25-jährigen Jubiläums als Produzent eingeladen hatte.
Yes hatten ihre letzte Tour in der "Classic"-Besetzung hinter sich und Jon Anderson sagte seine Teilnahme an "Produced by Trevor Horn - A Concert for the Prince`s Trust" ab - woraufhin auch Wakeman die Einladung nicht annahm. Oder so ähnlich.

THX für die HQ-2004 Version (der DVD-Ausschnitt) an JJG und Topo.
Mir gefällt diese Version noch mehr als das Original, liegt wohl auch an dem opulenten Konzertkonzept mit den vielen Musikern.
Rabin singt hier (auf der DVD...) perfekt ohne Schwächen (zumindest für mich... nicht wahrnehmbar).
