A FURTHER PRESS RELEASE AND DETAILS OF FORMATS FOR THE SQUACKETT ALBUM WILL BE FOLLOWING SHORTLY.

Squackett is the collaborative project between two legends of Progressive Rock, Chris Squire and Steve Hackett.

we are aware that it can be difficult for fans outside the UK to obtain copies , so have allocated 200 copies specifically for fans outside of the UK who would have difficulty buying from a local store (or dont have easy access to an independent shop) http://www.recordstoreday.com

If you would like to pre-order, I am taking orders up to the 25th February and it will be a case of first come, first served. I will email all successful buyers and email and refund back immediately if their are any unsuccessful buyers.

Cost will be £6.50 including postage in Europe and £9.00 elsewhere (that postage to the USA is a killer!). Limited to a max of 2 per customer.

Payment is via paypal to esotericarts@btconnect.com and if you just write Squackett in the notes section . You do not need a paypal account to pay by card on paypal.(only to receive payment)

Gerade auf progarchives und im IT-Forum erfahren: Das Debütalbum von Squackett soll laut Cherry Red/Esotheric Records nun weltweit am 08.05.2012 veröffentlicht werden. Eine Tracklist (mit zwei alten Bekannten) steht auch schon fest:

Das Album soll in drei verschiedenen Versionen erscheinen:
- Vinyl
- Standard CD
- Deluxe 2 CD-Edition (wobei die 2. Disc wohl einen 5.1 Surround-Mix enthalten soll)

Cherry Red Records and their imprint Esoteric Recordings are extremely pleased to announce the signing of the collaborative project between two legends of Progressive Rock, Chris Squire and Steve Hackett’s SQUACKETT.

The album has a scheduled global release date of May 8th 2012.

Further details of this very special release will follow in early January 2012.

Allerdings wurde das bereits im vergangenen Dezember gepostet, kann also gut sein, dass sich der Release-Termin zwischenzeitlich verschoben hat. Aber nix genaues weiß ich nicht.
Steve sagte zum Beispiel Christian vom IT, es sei eh noch zu früh für Details.

Gut, das passt ja zu dem, was Steve Christian persönlich mitgeteilt hat. Daher können wir nur hoffen, dass das Album zumindest noch in diesem Jahr das Licht der Welt erblickt. Ich hoffe wenigstens, dass die Tracklist schon mal richtig ist.

Mein simples Gemüt fragt: was ist so verfickt schwierig daran, bereits fertiggestellte Musik zu veröffentlichen? Squire und Hackett sind ja mittlerweile nicht mehr so wahnsinnig marktrelevant, es ist ja kein Duett von Kätie Pärrie mit Läddi Gaga, verdammt noch mal. Stoppt den Größenwahn und bringt das Teil einfach ganz bescheiden raus. Wenn's taugt, werden die Fans es kaufen. Wenn nicht, dann hat es nicht getaugt. Die Herren sind nicht mehr in dem Alter, wo Marktmanipulation noch was nennenswertes bringt.

so einfach sehe ich das nicht, zwar kann man sich auf die Fanbase verlassen aber wenn's ein bisschen darüber hinausgehen soll, braucht man die ganze Marketingmaschinerie.
Nicht umsonst vertreiben Major Companies den Löwenanteil an Tonträgern.
