Allerdings gibt da auch einiges, was für mein Empfinden in Kitsch abdriftet.

Wenn ich mich richtig erinnere, ist vor allem Justin Hayward für die Kitschanteile zuständig. Es war/ist seine gleichberechtigte Zusammenarbeit mit (seinem Antagonisten?) John Lodge, dank derer viele gute Songs entstanden sind. Mike Pinders Songs sind irgendwie anders, aber deswegen nicht schlechter. Ray Thomas fand ich immer etwas daneben, was wohl auch an dem Timbre in seiner Stimme liegt. Hat Graeme Edge eigentlich auch komponiert oder nur gedichtet?

So verschieden sind die Geschmäcker.
Z. B. habe ich diesen Song (besonders diese Live-Version von der Red Rock-DVD / hier in YT leider etwas verzerrt) immer schon sehr gerne gemocht und ich mag ihn immer noch - gerade auch wegen dieses Timbres. Das ist übgigens kein Outen, sondern eindeutig mögen.
Kitschig wirken auf mich meistens die Songs, die von J. Lodge gesungen sind (Beispiel "Talkin Out Of Turn, besonders div. Live-Versionen), ohne hier zu wissen, wer die komponiert hat. Ob Graeme Edge auch komopniert hat, kann ich mal auf den alten LP's nachschauen.

Diese Live at Red-Rocks-DVD lege ich auch wegen der tollen Kulisse / Atmosphäre und der Orchestrierung immer mal wieder gerne auf.

Sorry Dreamy, eigentlich hatte ich es auch nicht so tot-erst gesehen, deshalb auch die Smilies!!!
Gut, outen war auch bleede ausgedrückt. Ich bin irgendwie noch nicht auf diesen Thread gewesen (vorher) & das obwohl ich das gut fand, was sie zumindest auf diesen Alben gemacht hatten, leider auch länger nicht gehört! Hatte aber sie immer im HinterKopf um sie AutoBahn kompatibel zu machen! & das mein Bester kommt noch, 100pro!!! :labern:
Auch ich höre gerne seichtere Klänge, zwischendurch.

This superbly packaged 6 CD / 2 DVD set brings together, for the first time, remastered editions of all the Moody Blues' Polydor era albums, spanning the period 1986 to 1992. The package includes 17 bonus tracks, 11 of which are seeing release for the first time, including a 1991 BBC radio session.

In addition there is a previously unreleased concert recording from the group's July 1986 appearance in Cleveland, Ohio, during their 'Other Side of Life' tour and a fully remastered edition of the September 1992 'Red Rocks' concert with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.

On DVD there is the newly remastered and long unavailable 'Night at Red Rocks' concert plus the rare, fan club-only documentary 'The Other Side of Red Rocks'. Housed in a slipcase with an accompanying 64-page hardbound book, the whole set is topped off with the inclusion of a 7" blue vinyl single of 'Al Fin Voy A Encontrate', the rare Spanish version of 'I Know You're Out There Somewhere'.

'Schon ein Hammer-Set Nixe, sehr gut zur Auffüllung der Bandkasse geeignet. Es sei ihnen gegönnt.

Schade, die sind im Juni in Amserdam. Da wäre ich sehr gerne dabei. MB einmal live, das wäre es.
Gute Plätze vorne gibt es aber wohl nicht mehr und die Zeit ist ja evtl. auch Urlaubszeit... Man kann nicht alles haben - schade.

Ach, bei den "flachen" sind auch einige ganz gute' dabei. Aber dieses Set werde ich auch nicht kaufen. Alleine schon deshalb,
weil ich die sehr gute Red-Rock-Konzert-DVD eh schon habe.

Dies war so ca. Mitte der 90er Justin Hayward's Antwort auf eine Fanfrage, was er denn von Barclay James Harvest und vor allem deren "Nights In White Satin"-Klon "Poor Man's Moody Blues" (1977) halte.

Am 09. September 1992 trafen sich The Moody Blues und das Colorado Symphony Orchestra im Open Air Amphitheater Red Rocks, um ein ganz besonderes Album aufzunehmen. 84 Musiker unter der Leitung von Larry Baird spielten 15 Meilen von Denver entfernt ein Meisterwerk mit unglaublicher Atmosphäre ein. Alle Songs dieser Deluxe Edition sind digital remastered. Hinzu kommen Bonus Tracks, die bisher nur auf der limitierten Zusatz-CD des Time Traveller Box Sets zu hören waren. In dem 28seitigen Booklet mit dem originalen Artwork finden sich rare Fotos und ein Essay.

Warum mußte dieses DVD gekürzt werden??? Als video kannte man es ja schon, das sie gekürzt wurden!!!
